Fields & Forks: walk the North Fields
A free walk and barbecue on the dirt roads of the Heber Valley’s remaining open farmland. The North Fields are under development pressure and sit on the line of the proposed Highway 40 bypass. Registration is free at fieldsandforks.org. The start pin is emailed to people who register.
- 4:00 p.m. full loop, just under 4 miles
- 5:00 p.m. North Field Road, just under 2 miles
- 5:15 p.m. Potters Lane, just under 1 mile
- Barbecue about 5:00–6:30 p.m. Event ends at 7:00 p.m.
In 2018 county voters approved a $10 million open-space bond with these fields in mind. In 2023 the USDA named them Grasslands of Special Significance. The bypass write-up is on Projects.
